Everyday banking solutions

Desjardins Group will do everything it can to reduce the impact of the Canada Post labour dispute on members and clients.

This is a dispute at Canada Post. We cannot predict how long it will last.

Only a very limited number of documents can be sent by private courier, with longer wait times expected. We recommend that you contact your caisse and use electronic solutions whenever possible. All other documents will be mailed when the dispute at Canada Post is resolved.

You can order cheques on AccèsD, over the phone or at one of our locations.

In the event of a rotating strike, statements for folio accounts will still be mailed out in the areas not affected by the strike.

If there's a widespread strike or lock-out, these statements will be sent at the end of the dispute.

Cards are valid until the last day of the month in the expiry date. We mailed out the replacements in October for cards expiring in December.

If you're a member, your caisse can give you a generic card at any time.

If you have a business account, contact your caisse for alternative solutions.

We recommend contacting the appropriate government agencies or checking their website for updates. We suggest that you also set up direct deposit, since it's a secure and efficient way to get paid.

You can sign up for direct deposits from the Canada Revenue Agency and Revenu Québec on AccèsD or in person at your caisse.

Financing

Contact your caisse advisor to talk about your mortgage renewal. Your 5-in-1 notice will be sent out when the dispute is over.

Your account manager should get in touch with you so that you can sign it. If you have any questions, please contact your Desjardins Business centre.

Credit card

In the event of a rotating strike, account statements for Desjardins credit and prepaid cards will be mailed out in regions unaffected by the strike. However, wait times may be longer.

If there's a widespread strike or lock-out, these card statements will be sent at the end of the dispute. However, delays are expected and will depend on the duration of the dispute.

To avoid paying interest, you still need to pay your balance before the due date on your statement, even if postal service is interrupted. You can view your balance and make payments on AccèsD, by phone or in person.

Cards are valid until the last day of the month in the expiry date. We mailed out the replacements in August for cards expiring in October. Cards expiring in December will be mailed no later than November 1.

If your credit card is lost, stolen or damaged, you can cancel and replace it.

However, to help reduce the load on our carriers during the strike, whenever possible please use other payment methods, such as:

  • Your debit card
  • Mobile payments with your credit card
  • Online payments using your credit or debit card

If none of these options work for you, in the event of a rotating strike, cards will still be mailed out in the areas not affected by the strike. However, wait times may be longer. If there's a widespread strike or lock-out, these cards will be sent at the end of the dispute. However, delays are expected and will depend on the duration of the dispute.
